Information on solutions to the Windows Media Player Error C00D0029

Have you received these messages:

The connection to the server has been lost. (Error=C00D0029)

Cannot open http://www.domainname.com/filename. Please verify that the path and filename are correct and try again.(Error=C00D0029)

If so you have experienced the error code:C00D0029

I will explain a few of the reasons why this may occur

The Internet Connection is lost in Windows Media Player

Windows Media Player isn't connected to the website playing the audio or video content anymore.

Windows Media Player is unable to locate the URL of the stream

Windows Media Player cannot find the URL you are trying to play the content from. A site streaming audio content for instance will give a URL like this:

http://streaming.gmgradio.com/live/wm_jazzblue.asx

Server streaming becoming slow from extra traffic

The server you are trying to access the content from may be experiencing an influx of traffic and your connection to the server may not produce very good quality audio or video

I will now give you solutions to these problems

Solution to 1st Problem

Check your internet connection and try reconnecting to the site

Solution to 2nd Problem

Verify you have entered the correct URL and then reload the page into Windows Media Player

Solution to 3rd Problem

Keep retrying, if the server continuously cuts out, go back to it later and see if you can get on. Another recommended technique is to try and see if you can save the stream, to do this:

Right click the stream and click Save As

NB- Be sure to save file name as .wma or .wmv
