Top Five Windows Media Player 11 Tips

This page features the top five Windows Media Player 11 Tips you can implement to increase your experience.

TIP 1-Combine Searches

Combine Searches into ONE!! To do this type the name of the artist plus the name of the album this way you will only show albums from this artist ie "Red Hot Chilli Peppers + By the Way"

TIP 2- Prevent certain DVD's being played

If you want to prevent R rated movies being played on the family computer then you can block films above a certain age rating being played. To do this go to 'Tools' then 'Options' then select the 'DVD' tab. Select the 'Change' button under DVD playback restrictions. Select the highest rating you want to be played and select OK

TIP 3- Filter Music from certain time periods

If you feel like getting down to some funky disco music from the 70's, there is a way you don't have to keep going back and forth selecting different music from the library, type 2 years into the search bar like this "1970..1979" and Windows Media will find music from just that period of time.

TIP 4-Keep Windows Media Player on Top

If you want to keep Windows Media Player on the top of all the other open windows, you will want to select 'Tools' and then 'Options. Select the 'Player Tab and check 'Keep the Player on top of other windows' and then press 'OK' to go back to the Windows Media Player 11 screen

TIP 5-Changing between Screen Sizes

To go to Full screen via your keyboard press 'ALT' and 'Enter'

To go to Full screen via the menus right click anywhere on your Windows Media screen and click 'Full Screen'

To exit full screen mode press 'ESC'
