How to Play a DVD in Windows Vista

By default Windows Vista Home Basic, Business Edition or Enterprise you cannot play a DVD in Windows Media Player, however I will show you how to play a DVD in Windows Vista with a few simple steps.

To get a DVD working in a unsupported version of Windows Vista you will need a:

DVD Decoder (MPEG-2)

A DVD Decoder is a special piece of software that takes the data from a DVD disc, encodes it and then plays it through the graphics card into Windows Media Player.

Where can you get these DVD Decoders from

Microsoft DVD Decoders Page

When you chose a compatible software and download it, you will save it to your computer via the provided download link.

Then run the setup and follow the onscreen instructions, as soon as setup is complete you can watch great movies and video content on DVD with Windows Media Player.
