Do you want to protect your privacy in WMP, perhaps consider Clearing Recent File Lists in WMP

Search for Windows Media Player Support articles in the archives here:

Clearing Recent File Lists in WMP

Recent File lists consist of lots of file recently used in Windows Media Player, whether it be audio, video or just something you streamed from the internet. Windows Media Player collects all the files you use and puts them in an easy to access place on the file menu. This means that the most recent items can be seen here. To protect your privacy there is an option to remove data from this list in WMP.

To do this go to Tools Menu, then click options

Then you will want to click the privacy tab.

In the History Area click Clear History

If you want to make sure that Windows Media Player never saves your recent items again uncheck the 'Save File and URL history in Player' box and Windows Media will no longer save any recent files.
