Have you got mountains of old vintage CD's which you want to keep, perhaps it's the first one you ever bought? You will want to keep that memory for a long time to come, but did you know that CD's do get damaged and that's where Windows Media Player can save your bacon, by backing up the CD digitally you can keep hold of that track for years to come! Step by Step Guide
Step 1
Get your CD and place it into the CD/DVD Drive in your computer
Step 2
Load up Windows Media Player and click on the Rip Tab
Step 3 Once in the "Rip" Tab, you will see the CD you have just loaded, there will be numerous information about the CD such as Artist and Song Title, but in this step you will need to select the tracks you wish to copy by deselecting the ticks for the ones you don't want these ticks are next to each song title on the left hand side, if you want the whole CD you don't need to do anything in this step.
Step 4 Once you have selected the tracks you want, you will want to click the "Start Rip" Button located in the bottom right hand corner of the screen
Step 5 Your CD will now be copied into the Windows Media Player Library
Step 6
To verify your CD has been correctly copied, pop into the "Library" tab, search for your CD title and if the item appears you have been successful, if not go back to the beginning of this how-to and see if you have followed each step correctly!
